George King To Leave Hull KR At End Of Super League 2024

Hull KR Forward Set To Link Up With Castleford Tigers

King To Depart KCOM Stadium After Four Seasons

Hull KR forward George King will bring an end to his four-year spell with the club at the end of the 2024 Super League season.

The second-row, 28, will join local rivals Castleford Tigers from the start of the 2025 season after the two clubs agreed terms over a transfer fee.

King has made 110 appearances for Hull KR since arriving from Warrington Wolves in 2020, scoring 23 tries.

He has been a key part of the team's success in recent years, helping them to reach the Challenge Cup final in 2021 and the Super League play-offs in 2022.

Speaking about his decision to leave Hull KR, King said: "I've had a great four years here and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have played for such a historic club."

"However, I feel that the time is right for a new challenge and I'm excited about the opportunity to join Castleford Tigers."

"I'd like to thank everyone at Hull KR for their support and I wish them all the best for the future."

Hull KR head coach Danny McGuire said: "George has been a fantastic servant to Hull KR and we're sad to see him go."

"He's been a key part of our team in recent years and we wish him all the best for the future."

King's departure will be a blow to Hull KR, but they will be hoping to bring in a replacement who can fill the void.

The club is currently in talks with several potential targets and an announcement on a new signing is expected in the coming weeks.
